If you’re thinking about ordering a river rock pet portrait, I thought it would be a good idea to share some photo tips. In order for me to capture your pet, there are photos that work and photos that do not. So, let’s go over what are the best kind of photos for you to share with me.

What Kind of Photos Work?

The photo must be clear with defined lines. A head and shoulders pose works very well for larger animals like dogs and cats if you would like to see the details in their face. However, a full body shot works well too if you prefer your pet’s entire body in the painting. Multiple clear photos are best with different poses or angles, so that I may choose which pose will work best with the rock that I will be using.

What Kind of Photos Don’t Work?

Photos that are blurry, dark, or part of the face or body cut off do not work well. That being said, I understand that once our pets have passed, we do not always have the best photos around, or if giving a portrait as a gift, you may be very limited in your selection of pet photos. If any of these situations are the case, I will do my best to paint the most accurate likeness of your pet.

How Do I Order a Pet Portrait?

You can order a pet portrait by going to the Hot Rocks store under the “Buy Hot Rocks” tab. Go to one of the sample pet portraits and choose the style you would like, either single pet or two pet portrait. Click on the the “Add to bag” button next to the sample pet portrait that you would like. By clicking on “Add to bag”, you are purchasing your pet portrait and securing your order in line for portraits that I have to be completed. You are not purchasing the sample pet portrait, you are paying for your portrait to secure your order. Portraits are completed on a first come, first served basis.

Where Do I Send Photos of My Pet?

After you place your order, you may email your photo/s of your pet/s to hotrocks11@verizon.net

How Long Will It Take For My Portrait to Arrive?

Please allow 4-6 weeks for your pet portrait to arrive. It could take shorter or longer depending on the amount of orders I have at the time your order is placed. If I think that it will take longer than 6 weeks, I will contact you to let you know.
